An Ikeja Senior Magistrates’ Court 4 has remanded in prison custody at Kirikiri, Apapa-Lagos, a suspect, Peter Gregory who allegedly raped a dog meat seller, Mrs. Blessing Sunday Udoh.

According to the victim, Gregory came to her dog meat shop recently at about 8:30pm and pretended he wanted to buy dog meat. But when she told him she had finished her sales stock for the day, the suspect picked the knife in her shop and threatened to kill her if she resisted his sexual advances.
She gave in and the suspect had his way. When her husband returned, she reported the rape to him and police was contacted.
The police prosecutor, Inspector Rachael Williams in charge pf number MIK/E/02/2015 she filed against Gregory, alleged he committed the rape recently at 25 Ajegunle Street, Ajegunle Lagos when she threatened 20-year old Mrs. Udoh with a knife before raping her.
The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The presiding Chief Magistrate, Mr. Tajudeen A. Elias admitted Gregory to bail in the sum of N200,000 with one responsible surety in like sum who must show evidence of tax payment, LASRRA paper. The matter was adjourned till July 29, 2015 for mention.

However, Gregory will remain in prison custody until he has perfected his bail condition.
