The former minister of interior Abba Moro has reacted to an alleged report of theft of N21billion in his ministry during his term as minister.

Speaking at a reception in his honour at his country home, Ugbokolo, Okpokwu Local Government Area, Benue state, on Sunday, July 12, 2015, Moro denied having a hand in the alleged theft of N21bn, The Punch reports.

Moro also denied allegations of his arrest by anti-graft agencies as speculated in some quarters, especially in the social media.

According to him, some people rushed to his residence in Abuja to verify the allegation and were surprised to see him in the comfort of his home.

He dubbed the allegations as a move to cast slanders on his image, saying throughout his tenure as a minister, the ministry did not even record a budget of N10bn.

The ex-minister however said the job of providing employment had not been accomplished in the country until the last person on the street was employed.

Meanwhile, five Nigerian students have been apprehended and put behind bars over their alleged involvement in an internet scam that amounted to RM2.4 million (N125.2million) in the cities of Selangor and Kuala Lumpu, Malaysia.
