Espanyol president Joan Collet says the club are willing to enter talks
with Real Madrid over Kiko Casilla if they improve on their initial
offer.
The Spanish side are looking to bring the goalkeeper back to the
Santiago Bernabeu after it was confirmed that Iker Casillas will leave
to join Porto.
Casilla's release clause with the Catalan side is €20 million, though
Madrid will only have to pay half of that because they own 50 per cent
of his rights.
However, the club chief revealed on Twitter that an initial €4m offer
from Madrid had been rejected, before telling reporters that he is still
open to discussing a transfer with Los Blancos if they make a better
offer.
"There has been nothing else from Madrid and the €4m they offered is
very little value to the player and the club," he said. "It is a very
small figure. If the offer does not change, will not sit and talk with
them.
"These clauses are rarely respected. We like it that way, we are open to negotiation.
"We have not negotiated with Madrid, we have not put variables or anything similar on the table.
"He is a player who has played at international level and can do so again."
